Breast Cancer UK is looking for new Trustees
Please help us in our mission to prevent breast cancer.
We are particularly looking for Trustees with a campaigns, advertising or media background and Trustees with fundraising experience.
If you know someone who has had breast cancer, or if you have had breast cancer yourself, you will know what a devastating disease it can be. Our mission is to try and prevent breast cancer. We believe more can be done to eliminate the environmental risk factors that may be making us more vulnerable to the disease. But we need your help. The Board of Trustees plays a key role in the functioning and success of the charity. As a Trustee to Breast Cancer UK you will be involved at a strategic level to ensure that the charity achieves the purpose for which it was set up.
Make 2017 a Year of Prevention
We are looking to launch a campaign that will help us to raise awareness of the importance and possibilities of prevention. Could you help us make a success of this campaign?
Do you have experience of running a successful high profile, impactful and influential public facing campaign? Do you have strong networks and contacts with journalists, bloggers or other influencers? Do you have creative ideas that could help us to reach new heights? If so then please do consider applying becoming a Trustee.
Gold standard Fundraising Practices
2017 is predicted to be a tough and challenging year for charity fundraising. We are looking for a Trustee with a fundraising background who can help us to ensure we operate the best possible standards of fundraising practice, whose creative ideas and knowledge of the fundraising sector can help us to grow and diversify income, so that we can work even hard to prevent breast cancer.
If you think you can help us then please do consider applying to become our dedicated Fundraising Trustee.
Trustees are expected to attend four quarterly Board of Trustee meetings in London each year and also to join (and possibly chair) relevant Committees (ie the Fundraising Committee and/or the Campaigns and Communications Committee) which also meet 4 times a year via conference call.
Trustees are unremunerated; however reasonable travel expenses can be claimed.
Being a Breast Cancer UK Trustee is a hugely rewarding opportunity: you will be part of a group of people that is passionate about preventing breast cancer and developing ideas, activities and policy priorities that will help us to achieve our goals.
We can only accept applications on our Application Form - this is in line with good practice in equal opportunities.
If you would like to discuss the role before submitting your application, please contact Dr. Caroline Seddon, Chair of Trustees on 07956 097375 or Lynn Ladbrook, CEO on 07786393181 or by email to email@example.com
Breast Cancer UK value diversity and welcome applications from applicants from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from sections of the community which are currently under represented on our Board, including BAME and applicants with disabilities. Please note we will not use any personal information relating to your background at any stage of the application process.
