Staying In Touch This Christmas
Published 23 Nov 2017
A suggestive festive poem of an alternative way to help you stay in touch with friends and family this Christmas.
It’s almost upon us, the time is near
So dust of the decs, find your Christmas cheer
But there’s so much to do…. so much to prepare
Gifts to buy and events to share
Not to mention - staying in touch,
With friends and family who we don’t see very much
So fighting the crowds, we buy our cards by the pack
With intentions to write them all – as soon as we get back
But with the rushing and hustle, cars and lights
Christmas bustle, men in tights,
Not a single card has been put in the post,
You’ve been more concerned about the Christmas roast!
So do something different, for Christmas this year
Take the hassle out of spreading your Christmas cheer
Make a donation - to support our cause
And delete “Christmas card purchase” from your list of chores.
Breast cancer UK’s focus is on prevention
To stop cancer rates rising is our main intention
An awful disease affecting loved ones so dear,
And kept them from being with us at this special time of year
Friends will know about the kind deed you have done
For an ecard will be sent that you can send on
So when Christmas is over and the turkey has gone
Your donation to breast cancer UK will go on.

All funds raised through your christmas and seasonal gifts will be used to help us continue our work to prevent more people being diagnosed with breast cancer.
1 in 8 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their life. 1 in 5 will be under 50 years old. Yet at least 1 in 4 breast cancer cases are preventable. We work to help raise awareness of the risk factors for breast cancer and provide practical guides to help people reduce their risk.
Over 75% of the funds we received this year have gone directly towards supporting our charitable objectives. With your support, we aim to continue doing even more to help st
