Campaign with us.
Help us prevent breast cancer.
EDCs are everywhere.
EDCs (Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals) are hidden in thousands of everyday products - from food packaging and cookware to cosmetics and cleaning products. Without us noticing, some of these chemicals can build up in our bodies and disrupt our hormones, potentially increasing our risk of breast cancer, infertility and obesity.
Breast Cancer UK’s campaign, EDCs: Hiding in Plain Sight campaign, is changing that. We’re calling for greater transparency, corporate accountability and a UK-wide ban on these harmful chemicals in everyday products. It’s time to act.
Cancer touches so many of our lives. We're told that around 1 in 2 of us will develop cancer in our lifetimes.
This is not OK.
What can you do?
We shouldn’t have to accept things as they are. With our health at stake, we won’t stop until they’re gone from our lives for good.
We didn’t ask for them, and we don’t have to put up with them.
The science is still evolving, but we know enough to say that we need to act now.

NicolaThe sheer amount of healthy people being diagnosed by cancer seems to be spiralling out of control and if only one cause can be eradicated, it's a start.
MaureenI think we're in for a huge health crisis with these chemicals. I'd advise anyone to sign this as its for our grandchildren's health too.
LynnWe are all at risk, not one person (male or female) can avoid the daily chemical load we are subjected to. It is everyone's responsibility to call this out and to do something to stop this! Whether it is for ourselves, friends or families, or even strangers... it needs to be called out and hopefully regulations are improved or created to stop this.
GinaThere's no argument that clean living brings a huge amounts of benefits to physical and mental health and the environment. We've been so flooded with unhealthy products for convenience and economy that we've become blind to the damage they bring compared to if they never existed. It's too hard for a consumer to navigate the breadth of products and impacts. We need to stamp it out so it's not down to choice. For our children, our grandchildren, mother earth.
Why banning EDCs will make a difference
- EDCs can disrupt hormone systems, especially during sensitive life stages (pregnancy, childhood and puberty).
- They are found in cosmetics (parabens), some flame-retardants in furniture, certain pesticides, and PFAS “forever chemicals”.
- A precautionary approach protects children, families and future generations.
- At least 30% of breast cancer cases are considered preventable.
The change we want to see
We want to see corporations, regulators and the government take action.
Until we can be certain that these products are safe, we must protect the public’s health by reducing exposure to EDCs through a UK-wide ban.
Although the challenge is big, we truly believe change is achievable. We can’t do it without people like you. Even small actions contribute to a much bigger movement that can help protect future generations from ever having to experience a breast cancer diagnosis.
