Fundraise for us

Whether you’re hosting an event at your school or running a marathon, we are here to help. In this section you will find lots of useful information and inspiration to help you on your way.

Every pound raised supports our work and makes a real difference. There are many ways we can work together to reduce the number of people affected by breast cancer.

Whatever you are planning don’t forget you can contact us at any time for help and support materials.

Tina’s story

Tina’s friend, Dave, bravely having his chest waxed to help raise funds.

Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2013. She had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed. Many rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy followed. She raised funds whilst she was in treatment and a year later she was given her first all clear.

Tina said: “Although I had done some fundraising when I was in treatment, I made a promise to myself that when I got to my 60th birthday, after five years of being clear, I wanted to do it again”

Tina rallied the local community and together they raised an amazing sum with raffles, head shaves, various men braving being waxed, tombolas, a cake stall and a fun day.

Tina’s top tips

Choose a time and place for your event, give yourself time to organise it. Find your venue and agree with everyone what is expected and why you are fundraising, this will help to involve your local community.

Set yourself an achievable target, it is much better to over achieve! Create a fundraising page, eg. Just Giving to provide an online presence for information and updates.

You cannot do it all yourself! Make a to do list and ask for help. These tasks need different skills and remember people love to help!

Tell people why you are fundraising, when, how and where.  Social media is a great way to let people know what you are doing and spread the word, giving yourself time will allow you to create reminders and updates.

Say thank you, it means a lot when you share your success!
