DIY Fundraise

Yes Your Can

Here’s how to make your fundraising efforts a success and have fun:

Talk about your fundraising: You are doing an amazing thing! Let people know and how they can get help. Use our poster template to spread the word and tell people on social media too.

Tip – Create an event on Facebook, with a link to your Just Giving Page, that you can invite people to follow and share.

Tell your story: This may be difficult for you we understand. Many people are supporting us as they personally have been affected by breast cancer or their family or friends have been. If you can, share the reasons why you are raising funds.

Tip – If this is hard to put into words, you can use photos to tell a story, or perhaps ask a friend to help you write this.

Update your supporters: Let them know if you have reached another milestone such as £50 raised so far, or how the training is going/how many cakes you have baked so far! Thank people regularly for their support and share any photos or videos you have. If they are funny even better.

Tip – Asking people to support at the end of the month can be a good idea as we often choose where we are spending our charitable money around the time we get paid.

Let us and other media know: Do keep in contact with us, tag us in your social media posts and if you have any photos, or want us to share something with our community then just let us know. You can reach out to your local media too.

Tip – Don’t forget your local community magazines, they are often open to writing about what is happening in the area and are a great support, so ask them too.
