Breast Cancer UK’s 25 Saves Lives campaign during Breast cancer Awareness Month in October aims to raise vital funds for breast cancer research and prevention.
Coronavirus has hit us hard, our income has dropped by nearly 50% and we are having to make some tough decisions. But with your generous support, we will be able to continue our vital work to prevent breast cancer.
Over 25% of breast cancer cases are preventable (1, 2). And keeping fit can help reduce your risk of getting it by around 20% (3).
Sustainable bamboo clothing company, Boody are supporting our 25 Saves Lives campaign – donating 5% from sales of their Active Wear range during October, along with offering 25% off to everyone who signs up to their mailing list via this link.
£25 contributes towards the chemical reagents needed to conduct experiments in our research project, which investigates the role of oxysterols in triple negative breast cancer.
£50 helps to provide the equipment required in our Breast Density Research Project, which examines the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on breast density.
£100 can help train one of our PhD students, who work on vital research which aims to understand the causes of breast cancer and identify risk factors.
£250 will pay for a micropump used in the innovative breast on a chip experiments, conducted as part of our research project examining the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals and a high fat diet on breast cancer
£2,500 will pay for a three month extension for one of our co-funded PhD students, whose research was interrupted as a result of the lockdown resulting from COVID-19.
A donation of just £10 can help us reach out to new mums with educational information and guidance on how they can protect the future health of their children.
A donation of £25 can help provide a Breast Cancer Prevention kit to help our Ambassadors deliver talks, providing healthy lifestyle advice and practical tips that can help people reduce their risk of breast cancer.
Your donation of £100 can help train one of our PhD students, who work on vital research which aims to understand the causes of breast cancer and identify risk factors.
