BLOG: #Giving Tuesday

Published 1 Dec 2015

Today is #GivingTuesdayUK, a national day of giving something back.  You can take part in a number of ways and help raise awareness of Breast Cancer UK over the festive period.

Fundraising shouldn’t be hard, having fun is what it’s all about

  • Christmas Jumper Day – encourage everyone to wear their best (or worst) Christmas jumper to work and each person makes a small donation for doing so.
  • Having a Christmas party? Put a collection box by the DJ and encourage people to make a donation in exchange for requesting a song.
  • Christmas Carol sing-a-long - get a group of friends together to sing at your local shopping centre, pub or village hall and watch your bucket fill up with donations.
  • Fancy something more adventurous?  Sign up to the London Santa Run on 6 December, free Santa suit for every participant. Sign up here.

For any fundraising event we can provide advice and support, such as, collection boxes, ballons - these  can be ordered from Amanda.

Your donations will help us to continue our work to help prevent breast cancer, but your time and support will help us too.  Spare a few minutes to like and share our FB page, or if you would like to get more involved, please get in touch to discuss ideas.

Email or call Amanda to find out how you can help: amanda.smith@breastcanceruk or 08456801322.

Help spread the word on social media

Instagram / #UnSelfie - #GivingTuesday’s twist on the selfie.  Take a picture of yourself with a message in place of your face, listing charitable acts you have done or plan to do.  Don’t forget to nominate others to do the same and include our text to donate info so your good deed goes further.  Text BCUK01 followed by the amount (e.g. £5) to 70070
