50 g wholewheat orzo pasta
50 g spinach
100g broccoli, chopped into bite-size pieces
300 ml boiling water
1 tbsp miso paste
½ tbsp low-salt soy or tamari
Half a lime, juiced
The wholewheat orzo pasta used in this recipe has a higher fibre content than normal pasta. Numerous studies have demonstrated that maintaining a high-fiber diet decreases the risk of breast cancer and promotes good gut health!
Broccoli and spinach are non-starchy vegetables. Not only is there is strong evidence that a diet rich in vegetables and fruits can help reduce breast cancer risk, but eating non-starchy vegetables may also decrease the risk of oestrogen-receptor-negative breast cancer. Many non-starchy vegetables contain vitamins C and E, minerals, fibre and other bioactive compounds, which could help prevent cancer.
