Our 25 Fitness Festival is back for another weekend of endorphin-filled exercises and talks (remember to grab your tickets here). To mark its return, we wanted to celebrate our partnership with Boody, the sustainable bamboo clothing range.
Boody is helping us get more people active again this October by supporting our festival for the second year. Their support includes providing prize vouchers that can be used across their entire range, including their Activewear range, offering a 25% discount off their entire range, and donating 5% of proceeds from sales of the Activewear range to us throughout October.
We’ve partnered with Boody because of their thoughtful, sustainable, and environmental approach to the manufacture of their everyday clothing essentials, including the activewear range. Bamboo is becoming a popular alternative to cotton and synthetic fabrics because of its durability and environmental credentials.
Why bamboo is Better for the environment
1. Boody bamboo is organically grown
The bamboo that Boody uses in their yarn is grown organically. This means they do not use any of the common nasties to grow their crops: no insecticides or other pesticides and no fertilisers.
2. Water is recycled and reused during production
Bamboo is one of the most water-conserving resources on the planet and only requires rainwater to thrive and grow. When producing harvests for Boody’s clothing range, they do not use any artificial irrigation and let nature work its magic.
3. Cleaner, greener air
Did you know bamboo benefits both you and the environment? Bamboo produces over 30% more oxygen than the equivalent mass of trees – absorbing more carbon dioxide, an important greenhouse gas. Enviro-win!
4. Bamboo is the fastest-growing plant on the planet
That’s right. Bamboo has a Guinness World Record for being the fastest-growing plant on earth. What does that mean for you and the environment? Bamboo is a sustainable option for making fabric – it can be grown and harvested again and again with minimal harm to the environment.
Bamboo isn’t only good for the environment – but we think it’s a nice fabric and comfortable to wear. It means you can ditch the sweaty feeling (and stench) of synthetic fabrics and wear clothing that helps you keep unwanted body odours under control. Bamboo clothing is naturally hypo-allergenic, gentle on the skin, and highly breathable. And it can be worn all year round.
From quality, sustainable, everyday basics to relaxed essentials, all crafted in organically-grown bamboo, Boody is your number-one clothing company. Visit their website here.
