In 2025 Carole-Anne ran the London Marathon in support of Breast Cancer UK after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2021. Carole-Anne said
“Being told I had breast cancer was a complete shock. I felt fit and well. Except I wasn’t fit and well. I had breast cancer. I remember saying to the consultant ‘why me, why is this happening?’ and she just said, ‘bad luck’. But that wasn’t good enough for me, for me that’s not how science works.”
For Carole-Anne, our prevention work was her inspiration for running the marathon, she said
“I really like that Breast Cancer UK are going right back to the prevention end of the spectrum. We need to focus on prevention, as well as treatment, and that’s why I’m so proud to be running for Breast Cancer UK”
Carole-Anne did it, and so can you! Whatever the challenge or distance, wherever you live, there is an event near you.
