I am honoured to officially join Breast Cancer UK as an ambassador and using my voice to champion the power of mindful drinking in reducing breast cancer risk. As the founder of La Maison Wellness, creator of Mindful Cocktails™ and the Mindful Drinking Programme, I have dedicated my career to inspiring people to make informed and conscious choices about what they put in their glass. Showing that tasty doesn’t have to be boozy.

Partnering with Breast Cancer UK is a natural extension of this mission. By raising awareness about the link between alcohol and breast cancer, I hope to encourage a lifestyle that is both enjoyable and health-conscious – because drinking well is an ingredient to living well too.

What first prompted you to support Breast Cancer UK?

As someone passionate about wellbeing and mindful drinking, I wanted to support the incredible work of Breast Cancer UK. While so much in life is beyond our control, prevention is an area where we can make a difference. Alcohol is a known risk factor for breast cancer, yet many people are unaware of this link. Through my work in the no and low alcohol space, I have seen how empowering it is when people choose to drink more mindfully. Supporting Breast Cancer UK allows me to amplify an important message: small, mindful changes to our drinking habits can have a lasting impact on our long-term health.

What do you hope to achieve through being a Breast Cancer UK Ambassador?

My goal as an ambassador is to help more people make informed decisions about alcohol and breast cancer risk. I want to share practical, realistic, and enjoyable ways to reduce alcohol intake without feeling restricted or left out. Whether that means incorporating more delicious Mindful Cocktails™ into our rituals and celebrations, exploring the wide range of no and low alcohol options, or simply becoming more intentional about our drinking habits, I want to make mindful drinking accessible, enjoyable, and empowering.

Most importantly, I want to encourage more open conversations – helping to break the stigma around alcohol reduction and giving people the confidence to make choices that serve both their enjoyment of life and their well-being.

Why is Breast Cancer UK’s work so important?

Cancer affects all of us, whether directly or through someone we love. 1 in 7 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer, making awareness and prevention vital.

While some risk factors – such as family history and genetics – are beyond our control, others can be influenced through lifestyle choices. Reducing alcohol consumption, eating a balanced diet, staying active, and making mindful lifestyle changes all contribute to lowering the risk of developing breast cancer.

Knowledge is power! By raising awareness about risk reduction, we can empower people to take proactive steps towards better health. Breast Cancer UK is leading the way in educating and supporting women. Sharing science-backed, actionable advice that not only explains why prevention matters but also shows how to make choices that support long-term wellbeing.

You just helped launch the Full Supper Club initiative. Why is this message important to you?

I love the Full Supper Club initiative because it celebrates the simple joys of life – good food, great drinks, good company and meaningful connections.

It is not about restriction but about embracing abundance in a way that nourishes both body and mind. Too often, discussions around reducing alcohol or making healthier choices focus on what we have to give up. The truth is, mindful drinking is about what we gain. More energy, better sleep, deeper connections, and a greater sense of well-being. By creating a space where people can come together to enjoy delicious food and drinks, we are redefining what it means to drink well. It is about being full – full of life, full of joy, and full of choices that truly serve us.

What would you like to say to Breast Cancer UK supporters?

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Your support is not just funding research and education – it is changing lives.

Whether you are donating, raising awareness, or making small positive changes in your own lifestyle, you are part of a movement that is making a real difference.

I also encourage you to explore mindful drinking as part of your health journey. It is not about all or nothing – it is about balance, awareness, and choice. Every step towards reducing alcohol intake is a step towards better health, and that is something worth celebrating.

What would you say to women concerned about their breast cancer risk?

You are not alone. It is completely understandable to feel concerned, but knowledge is power. Prevention can be life-changing. The good news is that there are practical, evidence-based steps you can take to lower your risk and mindful drinking is one of them. The key is to focus on what you can control. Whether you remove, replace or reduce; every positive choice counts.

It is not about being perfect; it is about making small, sustainable changes.

I am proud to stand with Breast Cancer UK in this mission. I look forward to continuing to share inspiration, education, and delicious alternatives to help make mindful drinking an exciting and empowering choice.

Let’s raise a glass together!
