This bold new collaboration marks the launch of a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower individuals through adventure to reduce their breast cancer risk.
Research shows that maintaining an active lifestyle can reduce your risk of breast cancer by around 20%. This communal plunge for prevention aims to inspire a new movement of women to take charge of their health, all while enjoying the great outdoors. The health benefits aren’t only physical, which is why Chill UK, a non-profit seeking to prescribe cold water swimming to treat anxiety and depression, were also there making a splash at the spring launch. Simone Dodge spoke on behalf of the group.
“It was such a lovely event on Saturday, to see so many people attend and dip in the chilly waters- but everyone with massive smiles. I cannot wait to continue collaborating and encouraging everyone to get in the sea!”
At OTA, the focus is on empowering individuals to embrace the freedom, thrill, and resilience that come with adventure. Their bold new partnership with Breast Cancer UK is propelled by a shared mission to educate the public about the importance of breast self-examination and foster a culture of health and wellness through outdoor exploration. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase of OTA’s swimsuits - to be modelled at the launch - will go directly to Breast Cancer UK, helping to fund vital research and education into prevention.
“Partnering with Own The Adventure gives us a unique opportunity to engage a new audience and empower them to make their health a priority,” said Thalie Martini, CEO at Breast Cancer UK.
“We know that 30% of breast cancer case are preventable, and we’re excited about the potential of this collaboration, which aligns perfectly with our vision of creating a world where everyone is informed, supported, and equipped to take control of their breast health.”
Through their innovative design, sustainable materials, and commitment to health and wellness, OTA is combining adventure and breast health advocacy in a way that connects with people in a meaningful way. The partnership’s call to action – “Love yourself, Check Yourself” – will be featured inside every OTA swimsuit, reminding customers of the importance of performing regular self-checks for early detection.
As part of this collaboration, the OTA collection will feature special products with unique branding to raise awareness, including limited edition swimsuits and accessories, designed to inspire confidence, adventure, and commitment to health.
